Head of Project Management

Hirewell

Wausau, WI

A rapidly growing commercial general contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join its leadership team.

The company delivers a diverse portfolio of ground-up commercial work — retail developments, convenience stores, travel centers, quick-service restaurants, car washes, and other commercial facilities.

What You'll Do Manage multiple projects simultaneously from preconstruction through closeout

Own project budgets, forecasting, contracts, change management, and schedules

Coordinate subcontractors, consultants, and internal project teams

Drive project profitability while protecting margins and managing risk

Partner closely with field leadership to ensure successful project execution

Mentor and develop Project Engineers and support staff

What We're Looking For 5–12+ years of commercial construction project management experience

Experience independently managing ground-up commercial projects

Strong financial acumen including forecasting, budgeting, and cost control

Ability to manage multiple projects in various stages simultaneously

Proven ability to bring projects across the finish line

Experience building for brands like Buc-ee's, Love's Travel Stops, QuikTrip, RaceTrac, Murphy USA, 7-Eleven, Circle K, Whataburger, Raising Cane's, Chick-fil-A, Dutch Bros, Take 5, Mister Car Wash, Dollar General, or Tractor Supply is highly desirable — prototype, multi-site, and fuel work all translate well here

Must be willing to travel to 5-7 days a month

Bonus opportunity of 10–25%
