Respiratory ICU Nurse

Job Overview

Location: Charlotte Hungerford Hospital (10115) – a 122‑bed general acute care community hospital in Torrington, Connecticut, serving the Litchfield County and Northwest Connecticut region. The ICU is a 10‑bed unit caring for complex medical and surgical patients.

Responsibilities

Provide critical care to patients with respiratory failure, sepsis, drug and alcohol withdrawal, renal or hepatic injury, gastrointestinal bleeding, and post‑operative complications.

Manage mechanical ventilation and NIPPV; continuously monitor blood pressure by arterial line, cardiac output, capnography, and oximetry.

Collaborate with Intensivists, Clinical Leaders, RNs, and multi‑skilled technology staff to deliver high‑quality, compassionate care.

Qualifications

Required: Active Connecticut RN license before start date.

Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.

Required: Minimum one year of Acute Care RN experience.
