Head of Facility Management

The Facilities Manager is responsible for the day-to-day coordination and oversight of parish facilities, including buildings, grounds, and equipment. This role ensures that facilities are safe, functional, and well-maintained by managing maintenance activities, coordinating vendors, and supporting capital and operational projects.

Maintenance of All Building Systems and Structures

Maintains property including but not limited to grounds, offices, production areas, public areas, and equipment through development and implementation of preventive maintenance program; Manages organization’s physical operations including but not limited to landscaping, refrigeration, heating, ventilation and air conditioning, kitchen equipment, emergency generators, plumbing, water treatment, irrigation, and electric systems.

authorizes purchase orders for supplies and equipment.

Ensures all fire and safety inspections are completed and any discrepancies corrected; ensures property is in compliance with all safety and sanitation policies, procedures, and regulations in conjunction with risk managers from insurance carriers.

Maintains records including floor plans, blueprints, equipment manuals, and warranties, etc. Assigns duties and monitors quality of work; assures staff conforms to organizational policies and procedures and safety regulations.

Ensures that all major maintenance activities are conducted according to industry standards and Diocesan Policy.

Administrative

Interfaces with appropriate staff/managers to receive information regarding maintenance needs; Interfaces with appropriate staff/managers, engineers, and outside contractors to review and/or develop renovation and any possible new construction plans, coordinates communication with and oversees the work of outside contractors.

Attends, as required, meetings of building committees for large maintenance projects.

Supervision of Maintenance Staff
may supervise staff depending on parish size and structure.

CATHOLIC FAITH

Bachelor’s degree in facilities management, engineering, business administration, or a related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of experience and technical training. Minimum of five (5) years of experience in facilities, maintenance, or a related field required. Requires knowledge of building systems including heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), electrical, plumbing, and general maintenance practices. Familiarity with building codes, OSHA requirements, and ADA regulations required.

Ability to manage priorities and workflow, handling multiple projects and meeting deadlines.

Ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels.

Ability to keep written records of work performed, supplies, equipment and purchases.

Work extra hours and be on call for holidays and emergencies as needed.

Work is performed in both office and field environments. This position may require work beyond a standard 8-hour day, including evenings, weekends, and on-call availability for emergencies. The role involves oversight of facility operations in a dynamic environment.

Must be able to access all areas of parish facilities, including climbing ladders and working in various indoor and outdoor conditions, as needed to oversee operations. Ability to work with minimal supervision as well as in a team environment.
