Electrical Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in designing and developing electronic circuits and printed wiring assemblies, ensuring they meet detailed specifications and quality standards.

Create electronic circuit schematics and lead PCB design/layout activities.

Develop documentation for manufacturing printed wiring assemblies and transition designs to manufacturing.

Write technical documents including hardware module design descriptions and technical memoranda.

Verify product performance against predictions for prototype and production hardware products.

Generate documentation for programming individual components and loading firmware.

Troubleshoot problems effectively by defining issues, collecting data, and implementing solutions.

Identify alternate components and conduct qualification testing for obsolete components.

Act as a liaison between manufacturing diagnostic technicians and development engineers.

Evaluate the effects of modified firmware on existing hardware platforms.

Perform root cause analysis on field failures and recurring warranty returns.

Support research and development efforts and continuous process improvements.

Complete tasks in a quality and timely manner with minimal supervision.

At least five years of experience in detailed circuit card design, analysis, and test.

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.

Extensive lab experience and hands-on skills in optimizing designs and testing.

Experience with digital design including PSoCs, Microprocessors, FPGAs/CPLDs, and USB drivers.

Experience with Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Word, Visio, and Project.

Experience with lab testing equipment like oscilloscopes and power meters.

Hyperlynx experience for signal integrity testing is a plus.

The role is onsite and involves working on cutting-edge technology in a great team culture. You will be part of a project focused on updating and testing 3rd Gen Head Mounted Displays, specifically refreshing and updating 8-16 layer PCBs. Collaborate with a team that includes FPGA Engineers and other Electrical Engineers, utilizing Altium for board design while working with digital circuits.

Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Naperville, IL.
