You'll work with high school students who are building legitimate companies with $1M potential. These aren't classroom exercises or hypothetical scenarios. Approximately 60-65% of your time will be dedicated to 1:1 coaching: pinpointing where each founder encounters obstacles, determining the most impactful next step, and ensuring accountability to a concrete action plan. The remaining 35-40% will be divided between academic monitoring and facilitating workshops designed to equip students with practical capabilities, not merely theoretical knowledge.

This role is not conventional teaching. You are accountable for holistic student outcomes: entrepreneurial progress, academic performance, and personal development simultaneously. Your coaching will be informed by dashboards, venture updates, and academic metrics—not guesswork. When a student's grades begin to decline, you step in proactively. When a venture loses momentum, you identify the underlying issue, not the surface-level symptom.

You'll begin by understanding each student's business, their capabilities, and where they consistently struggle. Over time, you become the advisor whose challenges they respect, because you've operated in the real world yourself. The payoff is witnessing a 16-year-old arrive with a concept and depart with an operational business, the discipline to sustain it, and academic results that preserve future opportunities.

What You Will Be Doing

Providing 1:1 coaching to student founders on strategic decisions, execution tactics, and scaling challenges — approximately two-thirds of your weekly hours

Leveraging student dashboards, venture metrics, and academic records to assess progress and identify priority actions

Tracking academic performance and taking early action when concentration or time management issues emerge

Designing and delivering workshops that emphasize hands‑on skill development

Facilitating stand‑ups, debriefs, and group accountability sessions that reinforce commitment to individual objectives

What You Won’t Be Doing

Teaching traditional classes or adhering to a fixed curriculum (you enable applied learning, not lecture-based instruction)

Offering broad mentorship or inspirational speeches without concrete action commitments

Handling student administration — calendar coordination, forms, or admissions tasks

Attending routine faculty meetings or navigating institutional processes (your focus remains on direct student impact)

Youth Entrepreneurship Coach Key Responsibilities

Guide student founders in developing $1M-potential ventures while ensuring they maintain strong academic standing.

Basic Requirements

Willing to work on-site at Alpha High School in Austin, TX (relocation support provided)

At least 2 years coaching or developing others (direct reports, peers, or clients) with a specific example of a coaching relationship and its outcomes

Professional experience owning key outcomes or metrics, with at least one example demonstrating $500,000+ annual revenue impact

At least 1 year working with young people (students, early‑career professionals, or youth program participants) on projects, learning goals, or ventures

Legally authorized to work in the United States

Nice-to-have Requirements

Founded, co‑founded, or operated a startup or early‑stage business yourself

Experience as a Chief of Staff, program lead, or high‑performing individual contributor where you owned outcomes end‑to‑end

Comfort using AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot) to support coaching prep, analysis, or communication

Background in K‑12 education, EdTech, or programs that blend academics with real‑world application (accelerators, project‑based learning, entrepreneurship programs)

Working with us

This is a full‑time (40 hours per week), long‑term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $75 USD/hour, which equates to $150,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
