Quality Inspector Quality Inspector Reports to: Quality Manager Duties & Tasks

Perform routine quality audits throughout the production facility

Perform in-process inspections on production floor, including first-piece and last-piece inspections

Perform dimensional layout inspection as required

Perform quality-related training for employees

Perform receiving inspection and random dock audits

Perform calibration activities occasionally to verify specifications

Follow all policies and procedures

Visit suppliers and customers as required

Sort product for quality defects as required

Provide back-up coverage for other quality positions as needed

Perform other duties as assigned by senior quality engineer or quality manager

Understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)

Near Vision The ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).

Technical Knowledge

Familiarity with Windows OS, Keyboard, mouse and scanner.

Capable of reading and understanding Blue Prints

Basic Reading capability

Basic Math capability

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

Minimum Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.

Ability to read and analyze part prints.

Six (6) months inspection experience in the metal industry.

Full understanding of the proper use of measurement devices such as height gages, calipers, micrometers, protractors, pressure gages, etc.
