Description:
The position is for a Registered Nurse in a Medical Surgical unit.
This role involves working night shifts from 19:00 to 07:00.
The contract length is for 13 weeks with a possibility of extension.
The focus is on providing exceptional care for patients with a wide range of acute medical conditions.
The unit staff collaborates closely to ensure patient-centered care in a challenging yet rewarding environment.
Staffing includes registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, clinical assistants, unit clerks, and patient care technicians.
Clinical nurse coordinators provide leadership on every shift.
Daily huddles, patient flow management, and patient rounding are key responsibilities.
Nurse managers maintain a strong presence, engaging with staff and patients regularly.
The unit utilizes an acuity tool to optimize patient assignments and staffing levels.
Required skills include BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, and telemetry.
Experience with various procedures and protocols is essential for successful patient care.
Attendance is critical, with a limit of 2-3 call-offs during the contract period.
