Base Salary: $150,000+ , with performance‑based bonuses

Key Responsibilities

Represent clients in felony and misdemeanor jury trials, from arraignment through verdict

Develop comprehensive defense strategies across a broad range of criminal charges

Draft motions, negotiate with prosecutors, and advocate during hearings and sentencing

Guide clients through complex legal proceedings with professionalism and empathy

Collaborate with support staff to deliver effective case management from intake to resolution

Qualifications

Juris Doctor (JD) and active license to practice in Iowa (or ability to obtain quickly)

Minimum 5 years of criminal defense experience, with proven jury trial experience

Excellent courtroom presence and confident oral advocacy skills

Strong file management and organizational abilities
