Hiring for Phlebotomists!

This role offers an experienced phlebotomist or medical assistant the opportunity to provide high-quality patient care in a busy patient service center. You will perform blood draws, process specimens, and accurately document patient information while delivering excellent customer service. The position is ideal for someone who is detail oriented, comfortable with computers, and able to manage a steady flow of patients throughout the day.

Greet patients upon arrival and complete all required check-in and data entry in the internal system.

Perform venipuncture and blood draws using straight needles and butterfly needles, averaging 20-40 blood draws per day.

Process specimens, including data entry and documentation, to ensure timely and accurate lab submission.

Record maintenance data and support decontamination and cleanliness of work areas according to procedures.

Demonstrate proper phlebotomy techniques using straight needles and butterfly needles in accordance with training and protocols.

Participate in training and take on additional tasks such as accessioning as assigned.

Provide professional, compassionate, and responsive customer service to a patient population that is primarily adult.

Follow all established safety, specimen handling, and documentation procedures to maintain quality and compliance.

At least 1 year of phlebotomy experience, with 2 or more years preferred.

Proficiency in venipuncture and blood drawing, including experience with straight needles.

Demonstrated experience performing 20-40 blood draws per day or similar volume.

Strong customer service skills and the ability to interact professionally with patients.

Ability to perform accurate data entry and update patient information in an internal computer system.

Experience with specimen collection, labeling, and processing according to established procedures.

Comfort working primarily with adult patients, including geriatrics.

Minimum education of high school diploma or GED.

More than 2 years of phlebotomy experience is highly desirable.

Medical assistant (MA) experience in addition to phlebotomy skills.

Familiarity with CPT-related workflows and test order processing.

Experience working with geriatric patients and providing patient-centered care.

Bilingual communication skills are a plus and can enhance patient experience.

Strong computer literacy and comfort using internal systems for data entry and record updates.

Ability to adapt to different locations within a local area when coverage is needed.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of South Richmond Hill, NY.
