ACCOUNTING/BOOKKEEPING/COMPTROLLER

Schwartz Brothers Restaurants is looking for a Corporate Controller to join our corporate office team! As the Corporate Controller, you will lead and oversee the accounting operations of the company, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strong financial performance across all entities.
This position plays a key leadership role within the organization, partnering closely with the CFO while managing the day-to-day accounting functions. The Corporate Controller will oversee financial reporting, internal controls, audits, and compliance, while also supporting budgeting, benefits administration, and strategic initiatives. This role is responsible for maintaining strong relationships across departments and ensuring financial processes are efficient, accurate, and aligned with company goals.
They are comfortable managing multiple priorities, leading a team, and diving into both strategic and hands-on accounting work.
Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, financial reporting, and month-end close
Prepare and review journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial statements
Ensure compliance with GAAP and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations
Manage tax filings, licenses, audits, and regulatory reporting requirements
Maintain and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
Supervise and support the accounting team, including AP, payroll, and staff accounting functions
Partner with the CFO on budgeting, forecasting, audits, and strategic initiatives
Oversee restaurant bookkeeping processes and financial reporting accuracy
Act as a key liaison with external auditors, vendors, and internal stakeholders
35 years of related accounting experience

• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
• Experience managing teams and leading projects
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
