Quality InspectorThe Quality Inspector plays a key role in ensuring that aircraft structures, engines, avionics, and related components meet stringent quality and airworthiness standards. You will apply inspection standards, principles, and techniques to examine, evaluate, and report objective evidence of results in alignment with Quality Management System (QMS) requirements. Using a variety of tools and methods, you will verify that manufacturing work meets industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal safety protocols.ResponsibilitiesPerform scheduled inspections to ensure workmanship quality meets standard industry practices and complies with Manufacturing Work Instructions.Conduct preliminary, in?progress, and final inspections on all articles processed, including engines, avionics, and aircraft structures.Verify that manufacturing records, work order reports, and forms are completed accurately before releasing components or vehicles for return to service.Inspect components for defects, damage, proper identification, and correct dimensions using measuring devices such as calipers and micrometers.Follow and document complex processes, accurately input data, and record inspection results in accordance with QMS requirements.Apply appropriate inspection methods, techniques, and equipment in your specialty to determine quality or airworthiness in alignment with safety protocols.Communicate clearly in both written and verbal formats with engineering, management, and production personnel to convey product acceptance criteria and inspection results.Generate Non?Conformance Reports (NCRs) and Non?Routine Items (NRIs) as required, ensuring accurate documentation of quality issues.Perform receiving inspection duties for all incoming materials to verify compliance with specifications and standards.Oversee proper tagging and identification of all parts and components to ensure rejected or non?repairable parts are clearly marked, quarantined, and rendered unusable.Conduct work in a manner that enhances your own and others' health and safety, supports product safety, and promotes risk reduction.Participate openly in safety?related event investigations and immediately report workplace hazards while suggesting effective controls.Cooperate and contribute actively to the success of the local Safety program, consistently supporting safety initiatives.Continuously practice safe behaviors and Foreign Object Debris (FOD) awareness and prevention, strictly adhering to regulatory protocols and rules.Perform technical investigations to support quality processes and assist in Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) activities.Follow directions and guidelines from team leaders to support collaboration across teams and ensure timely project completion.Work on moderately difficult quality control assignments, using sound judgment to resolve issues and make recommendations.Ensure the quality and efficiency of installations, including performing troubleshooting and providing guidance on troubleshooting processes and concepts when needed.Collaborate effectively with colleagues and interdepartmental teams to achieve shared goals and complete assigned tasks.Essential SkillsHigh School Diploma or equivalent.Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License.Minimum of five years' experience in a related field, which may include aerospace parts and components and hands?on experience in manufacturing, maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO), or airline environments, with a special emphasis on prototype aircraft and material/logistics operations.Knowledge of AS9100 and other relevant aerospace industry standards and regulations.In?depth understanding of inspection techniques and quality issues associated with manufacturing, logistics, and warehouse operations.Experience with nonconforming material control processes, including identification, segregation, and disposition.Specific vision abilities (corrected or uncorrected), including color perception, close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus to detect small flaws or defects.Commitment to comply with safety regulations and promote a safe working environment.Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as part of daily duties.Demonstrated ability to use computer applications to follow manufacturing work instructions and record inspection data.Ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and models in both paper and digital formats.Hands?on experience using precision measurement tools such as calipers and micrometers.Practical experience in inspection, quality control, quality assurance, and quality inspection within an aerospace or similar environment.Additional Skills & QualificationsProven hands?on inspection experience in the aerospace industry using a variety of precision measurement tools.Basic math skills to support measurements, calculations, and data analysis.Technical writing skills to document inspection results, NCRs, and quality findings clearly and accurately.Knowledge of current quality control practices and a willingness to learn cutting?edge spacecraft quality techniques.Ability to collaborate on quality inspection projects with fellow technicians and cross?functional teams to achieve goals or solve problems.Strong communication skills that are timely, respectful, and open to other perspectives and ideas.Safety?focused mindset with strong housekeeping habits, tool control, and understanding of proper handling of The role follows a structured shift schedule: the standard shift is 1st shift, Thursday through Sunday, from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Initial training takes place on 1st shift, Monday through Thursday, from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The position may involve overtime, although it is not guaranteed. The environment is highly safety?focused, with strong emphasis on Foreign Object Debris (FOD) control, proper handling of tools and hazardous materials, and adherence to regulatory protocols and quality standards. You will regularly use precision measurement tools, computer?based work instructions, and inspection equipment while working around aircraft structures, engines, and avionics components.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Mesa, AZ.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr.
