Do you want to work as a(an) Respiratory Therapist CRT PRN where your passion for creating positive patient interactions is valued? If you are dedicated to caring for the well-being of others, this could be your next opportunity. Under general supervision initiates, assesses, and evaluates all forms of respiratory therapy including bronchodilators, chest physical therapy, oxygen therapy, and non-invasive and invasive ventilator care. Exercises technical knowledge in respiratory anatomy, physiology, and pathology as well as the design and operations of all respiratory therapy equipment. The RCP demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate care to neonates, infants, children, adolescents, adult and geriatric patients

To know and understand the objectives, policies and procedures of the hospital and Respiratory Care Department.

Verifies and signs all new orders for respiratory care. Assures that all physiciansorders coincide with current departmental policy.

Responsible for the recognition, interpretation, and recording of signs andsymptoms of respiratory dysfunction and medication side effects,particularly those that require notification of a physician.

The effective and safe use of equipment for administering oxygen and other therapeutic gases and for providing humidification, nebulization, and medication

To know and understand the principles of arterial blood gas analysis, acid-baseand demonstrated competence in obtaining arterial blood gas samples.

postural drainage, therapeutic percussion and vibration, and mechanical clearing

Experience: Prefer 1 year experience as a therapist in an acute care facility

Graduate of an AMA approved school of Respiratory Care

Special Qualifications: Must hold full or temporary license from the State of Texas as a Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner and certified by the National Board of Respiratory Care. Possesses knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate for meeting the age-specific needs of the patients assigned to the Respiratory Care Department, including:
