TEMP/TRAVEL - Registered Nurse (RN) PCU (NIGHT)

Overview
Registered Nurse, PCU, Utica, New York. This travel assignment places you in an IMCU/PCU–level unit within a hospital setting. Start date is 10/05/2026 for 14 weeks, with guaranteed 48 hours per week and a 2x4 night shift schedule (12-hour shifts). The role centers on adult neuro, cardiac, trauma, and respiratory cases with complex needs, including chronic ventilator support managed with respiratory therapy. Local candidates within 75 miles are welcome at local rates. EMR is EPIC, and RTO requests must be included at submission.

Responsibilities

Provide direct nursing care to adult patients in IMCU/PCU with neuro, cardiac, trauma, and respiratory diagnoses; monitor evolving conditions and respond to changes in patient status
Administer medications, monitor lab results, and coordinate care plans with the multidisciplinary team, including respiratory therapy for chronic ventilation support
Perform ongoing assessments, implement orders, and document care in the EPIC EMR; participate in stroke care processes and NIHSS as applicable
Collaborate with physicians, case management, and ancillary staff; assist with transfer, discharge planning, and post-op care as appropriate for the unit
Floats to other units as needed to support hospital operations while maintaining patient safety and quality of care
Requirements

• Active New York RN license; Nursys verification; RTO must be included at submission
• 2+ years of IMCU/PCU experience; stroke experience strongly preferred
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications; EPIC EMR experience
• Ability to work in a high-acuity adult unit with chronic ventilator support; pulmonology/RT collaboration required
• Education: RN degree from an accredited program
• Valid driver's license and address that matches demographics as part of submission requirements
