The Dentist is responsible for providing dental services to inmate patients within the institution they are assigned to, while adhering to the security regulations of the facility. They are required to maintain accurate and timely documentation of their services and provide it to the director or designee to ensure compliance with client contract and proper compensation for services rendered.
Provides dental care and treatment to referred patients in accordance with facility regulations and standards.
Performs routine cleaning, restorative dentistry, and extractions as needed.
Evaluates patients' dental care needs and makes clinically appropriate recommendations.
Takes impressions for dental appliances and instructs patients in good dental hygiene techniques.
Maintains accurate and confidential patient records and provides in-service training for health staff members.
1.0 FTE (4) 10-hour shifts Monday - Thursday Rotating days between both Milwaukee sites Milwaukee County Jail - Monday/Wednesday Milwaukee County Community Reintegration Center - Tuesday / Thursday No Holidays/No Weekends Correctional Dentistry! 1.0 FTE salaried position shared amongst 2 sites (0207 &0208) Monday & Tuesday - MCJ Wednesday & Thursday - CRC Hours 0700-1730 or 0800-1830 For an immediate phone screening please click below: The dentist position is 40 hours per week and works 20 hours per week at the downtown jail and 20 hours per week and the Community Reiteration Center (formerly House of Correction). You will typically work 10 hour shifts M-T, times are flexible as long as it works for both the dentist and their assistant (already on staff). The two facilities are about 12 miles from each other or a 20 minute drive. Graduate from an accredited school of dental medicine.

One year of experience in general dentistry preferred.

Must have and maintain current licensure as a dentist within the state of employment.
