Textron Systems is seeking new and recent graduates to join our Sea Systems business area to develop solutions in support of our unmanned surface vehicles programs. Current focal areas include autonomous control, advanced payload integration, vision systems, and other emerging technologies to enhance our unmanned surface vehicle platforms’ capabilities.

Your day may include designing, simulating, constructing, and field‑testing autonomous surface vehicles and their subsystems. Our goal is to deliver disruptive autonomy technologies that enhance our customers’ mission capabilities. We work on applied research and development initiatives as well as established programs, and leverage diversity of thought to improve Textron Systems’ lines of robotic products.

As an electrical engineer, you will perform a variety of assignments including conceptual design, engineering analysis, detailed sub‑system electrical design, integration, test, and manufacturing and field support. A strong candidate will possess a broad range of engineering skills. Perform detailed design of integrated electrical and communications systems on vehicles.

Perform analysis, integration, and testing.

Prepare high‑quality formal engineering documentation such as drawings, presentations, specifications, and design presentations to customers.

Produce technical white papers and brief management/customers on planning and progress.

Prepare and/or manage design change documentation via Engineering Change Notices/Engineering Change Proposals.

Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in electrical engineering, electro‑mechanical engineering, or a related field with 2 years of experience.

Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Visio).

Design and integration experience in military and/or commercial systems, control systems, EMI/EMC, power and safety.

Cable design

Hardware safety and risk analysis

Hardware environmental and electromagnetic qualification to military standards

HALT and ESS testing

Ethernet and networking, RS232/422, CAN bus

Fault tree development and criticality analysis

Programming and algorithm development

Grounding and environmental control

Power test equipment such as electronic load banks

Hands‑on experience troubleshooting electrical cabling and digital communication.

Wired Ethernet and network configuration experience is a plus.

Eligible to obtain a security clearance.

We are looking for candidates with a bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in electrical engineering, electro‑mechanical engineering, or a related field. In compliance with the local pay transparency law, the pay range for this position is as follows.

Level II Engineer (typically 2 years of experience) $88,200 - $133,000 per year.
