PERM Paralegal

Meneses Law is an Immigration Law Firm seeking a motivated Paralegal to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for helping the operations department in managing all daily workflow. Candidate must be bilingual in both English and Spanish and must be able to properly read, write and speak both languages. Paralegal should have a growth mindset that is willing to learn and grow.

Obtaining proper documents and helping clients understand them.

Meet with department managers to discuss assigned cases or projects.

Provide clients with general information about immigration eligibility requirements and the nature of the immigration application or petition process.

Utilizes document and data management systems to prepare, monitor, and record all aspects of client casework.

Manages status of all filed applications and petitions and finalizes documents after attorney review.

Conduct research on legal issues for attorneys.

Proficiency in legal terminology.

Provides clerical and research support services including document preparation and review.

Must be able to work independently and with minimal supervision.

Perform any other tasks or functions deemed necessary to the daily operations of the employer.

Understanding of legal language and principles, research methods.

Proficient with technology and ability to learn our software systems.

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and MacOS systems.

Good understanding of clerical operations.

English usage, spelling, grammar, and punctuation.

Must be fluent in both English and Spanish.

Relationship building and influencing skills.

Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice or related field.

Required 2 plus years of related experience working in an office environment.

Extensive knowledge of immigration forms such as visas, permanent residence, and other benefits on behalf of our clients to include secondary benefit applications.

Familiar with Basic immigration procedures to help prepare attorneys for immigration court proceedings.

Strong knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.

May involve close vision, color vision, depth perception, focus adjustment and viewing computer monitor for extended periods of time.

Involves manual dexterity for using keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment.
