Direct Support Professional- Weekends Part time 2nd Shift

The Arc of Ocean County is seeking compassionate and reliable Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide hands‑on support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in residential settings throughout Ocean County. This part‑time position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference by helping individuals live as independently as possible while participating fully in their homes and communities.

We are currently hiring for evening and weekend shifts across a variety of residential programs, including group homes, supervised apartments, and supported living environments.

Position Details

Employment Type: Part‑Time

Available Shifts:

Evening Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM

Weekend Day and Evening Opportunities Available

Weekend availability required

Pay Range: $20.70 – $24.70 per hour

Bi‑weekly pay schedule

Shift differential and overtime opportunities available

Essential Responsibilities

Provide direct care and support to individuals residing in community‑based residential programs.

Assist with activities of daily living including personal hygiene, grooming, meal preparation, medication administration, housekeeping, and laundry.

Encourage independence and support individuals in achieving personal goals outlined within individualized support plans.

Promote community inclusion by assisting individuals with recreational, social, and community‑based activities.

Support residents with behavioral, medical, and emotional needs while maintaining a safe and respectful environment.

Maintain accurate electronic documentation including daily notes, medication records, and program‑related reports.

Assist with transportation to appointments, recreational activities, and community outings when required.

Communicate effectively with coworkers, supervisors, families, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure continuity of care.

Protect the rights, dignity, privacy, and personal choices of all individuals served.

Qualifications

Must be at least 18 years of age.

High School Diploma or GED required.

Valid New Jersey driver's license in good standing required, with no more than five (5) points.

Demonstrated employment stability preferred, including at least one (1) year with a previous employer.

Ability to work independently while exercising sound judgment and professionalism.

Must be capable of meeting the physical demands of the position, including assisting individuals with mobility and completing household responsibilities as needed.
