Healthcare counselor

Job Description Job Description We are seeking an Alcohol and Drug Counselor to join our team! You will be responsible for facilitating groups, counseling clients on services available for treatment, helping combat relapses, and building long-term life skills to maintain sobriety. Responsibilities: -Conduct groups and 1:1 counseling sessions with clients per program standards and document progress and participation. -Obtain clinical information from the intake assessment, medical hx questionnaire, biopsycho-social assessment and use the information to develop and implement a collaborative treatment plan. -Maintains thorough clinical records for clients, including all services provided as part of individualized episode. -Facilitate referrals to other healthcare or counseling professionals. -Assists the client in discharge planning, identifying needs, and linking client to services -Ensures documentation adheres to all regulatory time-frames and requirements Qualifications: -2+ years experience in counseling with a focus on group therapy and clinical documentation. -Experience in conflict resolution -Compassionate and caring demeanor -Ability to build rapport with clients -Excellent written and verbal communication skills -Certification with a state of California counselor certifying organization Minimum requirements for position are: -Physical, TB test, Drug Screen, able to present in a professional fashion orally and physically, maintain and uphold strong boundaries while having a therapeutic manner. -
