Human Resources Generalist

The Human Resources Generalist serves as a key partner in the effective delivery of human resources across the company, with specific support for multiple divisions. This role is responsible for a broad range of professional-level HR functions with a strong focus on compliance and employee relations. Working closely with leadership, the Human Resources Generalist exercises independent judgment in interpreting and applying employment laws, policies, and procedures, and recommends appropriate actions on employee relations, policy interpretation, and compliance matters. The position supports Operations teams located at headquarters in West Los Angeles, CA and in Salt Lake City, UT, and plays a critical role in policy interpretation and enforcement, compliance monitoring, HR data analysis, and cross-functional collaboration to support company goals. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong interpersonal skills, sound judgment, the ability to manage multiple deadlines, and a proactive approach to problem-solving in a fast-paced HR environment.

Serve as a primary point of contact for HR Business Partner inquiries, analyzing issues and providing guidance that is consistent with company policies and employment laws.

Partner with the Human Resources Generalist on onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure compliance and a consistent, positive employee experience.

Oversee the maintenance and integrity of personnel records to ensure compliance, data accuracy, and adherence to recordkeeping policies.

Design, develop, and deliver training and coaching programs for supervisors and employees on compliant timekeeping practices, corrective action, business unit policies, and policy interpretation.

Partner with division leaders to provide human resources guidance and direction that supports business objectives.

Provide guidance and recommendations to business partners regarding leaves of absence, workers compensation and safety, timekeeping and attendance, and employee relations issues, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and internal policies.

Conduct workplace investigations related to employee relations issues within assigned business partner divisions.

Partner with the Human Resources Director to design and implement performance management, employee development, and engagement programs aligned with organizational strategy.

Ensure ongoing compliance with relevant HR laws and regulations and stay current on changes in employment legislation.

Analyze human resources metrics and support HR initiatives that are aligned with company goals.

Lead or contribute to the development, interpretation, and implementation of HR policies and procedures, exercising independent judgment to ensure compliance and operational effectiveness.

Develop and maintain strong working relationships with hiring managers, supervisors, department leaders, and team members to create collaborative partnerships that support organizational success.

Independently manage or contribute to HR initiatives, applying professional expertise to improve processes, strengthen compliance, and enhance employee engagement.

Travel as needed to other company locations, including Salt Lake City, UT, to support HR activities and business partners.

Perform other related duties as assigned that are consistent with the scope of the Human Resources Generalist role.

Bachelors degree in a related field.

Minimum of 5 years of solid experience in human resources, preferably in a business partner capacity.

Strong experience in employee relations and human resources management.

Exceptional project management and organizational skills with strong initiative and resourcefulness.

Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately and exercise solid judgment.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suite software programs.

Experience with HR systems and tools, including platforms such as Workday.

Familiarity with HR data analysis and HR metrics to support strategic initiatives.

Experience designing and delivering training and coaching programs for supervisors and employees.

Experience in performance management, employee development, and engagement program design.

Ability to build strong relationships with hiring managers, supervisors, and department leaders to foster collaboration.

A minimum of three days onsite per week is expected, with onsite days typically on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. The remaining days, such as Tuesdays and Fridays, may be worked remotely in alignment with business needs and team coordination. The role supports Operations teams in both West Los Angeles and Salt Lake City, UT, and may require occasional travel to the Salt Lake City location and other sites. Standard office technologies are used, including Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and HR platforms such as Workday. The dress code is professional business attire appropriate for a corporate headquarters setting and for representing the HR function to leaders and employees.
