Imaging - Radiological TechnologistFULL TIME - DAYSWhile Radiology and Ultrasound are both imaging departments within the hospital, they utilize different technologies and serve distinct diagnostic purposes. The Radiology department encompasses a broad range of imaging techniques that use different forms of radiation or electromagnetic waves to visualize the internal structures of the body. A radiology technician, also known as a radiologic technologist, plays a crucial role in a hospital setting by assisting in diagnosing and treating patients through the use of medical imaging techniques. Operates x-ray equipment safely and performs all the tasks of patient services using imaging modalities, under direction of Director of Radiology and Radiologist.Prepares room, equipment, and materials as needed for patients daily.Provides education to patients regarding their ordered exams.Cleans and disinfects x-ray room and equipment after each exam.Prepares barium and other chemical mixtures for x-rays.Must pass initial competency test and yearly competency testing thereafter.Will assume other duties applicable to the operation of the Radiology Department as needed.
