Project Engineer, Mechanical - Hybrid This is a hybrid position and requires onsite work three days per week at our Towson, MD campus. The Job: As a Project Engineer, Mechanical, you’ll be part of our Tools & Outdoor team working as an Onsite employee with our Hustler team. This position is responsible for Engineering activities related to developing, designing, and supporting in the Outdoor Power Equipment platforms at our Hesston, Kansas facility. You will interface with the complimentary Product Design Groups, Testing, Regulatory, Quality, Product Marketing, and Manufacturing. Successfully manage projects to achieve all quality, performance, schedule and cost objectives in a cross-functional environment.Independently execute prioritization, planning, scheduling, and tracking of objectives.Partner with cross-functional teams (Product Marketing, Global Sourcing, Reliability, Suppliers, Manufacturing, etc.) to identify and clearly define customer requirements, and translate those requirements into appropriate product specificationsLead a core team of 2-3 engineers/designers to create a product that exceeds the product specifications while developing their skill and mentoring them along the wayRecommend sound product design decisions following a thorough analysis of complex dataSupervise prototype and engineering builds for engineering and manufacturing teams and initial production lots to ensure that the products are assembled and tested in the correct way to ensure long term product qualityImplements design and process controls, conducts root-cause analysis, and apply statistical and Lean Six-Sigma techniques to maintain and improve product quality as problems arise thru the product development cycleCoordinates with Management to ensure programs are on track and identifies risk areas and suggest mitigation options to keep development moving in the right directionUtilize Engineering process to develop and deliver technical design in support of new product development.This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship (H1B, OPT/CPT, TN etc).Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with 7+ years of experience.Experience/training in Project Management preferred.
