CPA/Senior Tax Preparer
RC CPAs & Business Advisors
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled tax professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in public accounting, extensive experience with complex tax compliance (including international filings), and the ability to manage client relationships and multiple projects independently. This role is ideal for a senior-level tax expert who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys mentoring junior staff.
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
10+ years of experience in public accounting
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred, or Enrolled Agent (EA)
Master’s degree in Taxation is a plus
Expectations Significant long-term experience in a public accounting firm
Ability to manage projects independently
Proven experience managing deadlines across multiple clients and entities
Handle communications with tax authorities
Review work prepared by junior staff
Communicate directly with clients and external advisors
Mentor and train junior associates
Skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
High attention to detail
Ability to work under pressure during tax deadlines and manage multiple projects
Strong organizational skills
Ability to effectively mentor junior staff
Technical Skills Tax Compliance Preparation of complex corporate, partnership, and individual tax returns
Preparation of trust and non-profit tax returns
Payroll tax compliance
Sales tax compliance
Manage multi-jurisdictional tax filings
Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and international tax regulations
International tax compliance experience is REQUIRED , including:
Knowledge of Foreign Information Reporting Forms (5471, 8865, 8858, 5472, 8938, 8621, 926, etc.)
Understanding of Controlled Foreign Corporation (CFC) rules
Subpart F and GILTI
Experience calculating CFC income, inclusions, and foreign tax credits
FBAR (FinCEN Form 114)
Application of tax treaties
Tax Research Strong ability to research complex tax topics
Prepare technical memos
Assist management in identifying tax planning opportunities
Software Proficiency Experience with tax preparation software such as UltraTax and CCH
Accounting Experience preparing and reviewing financial statements
Year-end closing
