Early Education Sub/ Teacher

Substitute Teacher assumes the full role and responsibilities of the Teacher in his/her absence, provides support to regular classroom staff for establishment, maintenance and management of all classroom activities.
Duties and Responsibilities Implements daily lesson plans and schedules.
Organizes and maintains learning centers within the classroom.
Maintains order using positive approaches to behavior management.
Recruits volunteers and solicits in‑kind contributions.
Attends meetings, trainings and workshops as required.
Maintains cleanliness of classrooms and adjoining restrooms.
Serves as an advocate for the Head Start Program, families and children.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma and/or GED.
At least one year of experience working with infants and toddlers in a childcare setting.
Preferred Qualifications Child Development Associate (CDA) certificate.
Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education.
Certificates / Licenses / Registration Current driver’s license and access to a covered automobile with current insurance.
Current CDA or AA in Early Childhood Education required.
Physical Demands Requires walking and interacting with children during rigorous outdoor play for up to 45 minutes at a time, sitting, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching and occasionally standing. Must lift and move up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 25 pounds frequently. Requires close, distance, peripheral vision with ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment Moderate noise level in the work environment.
