HR Generalist - Employee Relations & Recruiting

amfAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research, is seeking a dynamic and strategic Human Resources Generalist.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS :

Coordinates routine operations of the Human Resources department. Oversees benefits administration, enrollments, changes, and terminations. Updates and maintains the HR Information system for employee data. Maintains inventory of HR materials. Maintains employee records and HR files

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Coordinates routine HR operations, including maintaining files and employee records, routine employee and applicant correspondence, and payment of invoices.
• Administers employee benefit plans (medical, dental, vision, Life, FSA, and others), and enrolling, changing data on, and terminating participants. Responds to employee questions concerning benefits and coordinate informational needs with consultants and vendors. Manage annual open enrollment process for various insurance plans.
• Interact with international office as it relates to HR matters.
• Maintains and updates the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) entering new employees and assigning benefits and time off plans. Runs routine and special reports.
• Maintains inventory of HR materials, including orientation packs, administrative forms, and benefit plan information.
• Oversee employee events and programs.
• Administers department mail, and prepares department check requests; maintains appropriate budget records.
• Recruits for open positions utilizing various recruiting strategies.
• Handles first live employee relations issues.
• Oversee orientation for all new hires.
• Demonstrated ability and willingness to leverage AI technologies to support job responsibilities improve workflows and adapt to evolving business needs.

Qualifications:
College Degree required. Three plus years’ experience in Human Resources, including knowledge of benefits processing. Knowledge of EEO regulations, health insurance, unemployment, and disability procedures is required. Excellent interpersonal skills and proficiency in Word, Excel, HRIS systems, and other PC business applications. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated sensitivity in handling confidential information.
