Sunny Days of California, Inc. specializes in the area of early intervention, serving children with developmental needs from birth to three years of age. Our programs are multidisciplinary, providing occupational, physical, and speech therapy, as well as child development services.

Opportunities to serve infants and toddlers with developmental delays and their families in both their home and community-based settings

Conduct developmental assessments, provide physical therapy services utilizing the Parent Coaching Model (Rush & Sheldon)

Follow each child’s Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) and work with the family to develop strategies to help each child reach their specific developmental goals

Utilize the family-centered parent coaching approach to build caregivers’ confidence and skills and to ensure that progress is generalized

Provide services in the child’s natural environment, in families’ homes, daycare centers and/or other community settings.

Provide re-assessments and write progress reports (typically bi-annual)

Maintain confidentiality of information regarding children and families (in accordance with HIPAA and/or State/Federal regulations)

California Physical Therapy (DPT) license

Bilingual in Spanish a plus!

Sunny Days has a diverse offering of Early Intervention employment opportunities, both full-time and part-time. If you are looking to supplement existing employment, Sunny Days also offers work for Independent Therapists/Educator Consultants. As an Early Intervention Independent Contractor, you'll experience a variety of caseloads and settings while being compensated with top hourly reimbursement rates.

In addition to the positions listed below, each may have its own unique focus area, such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, Emotional/Behavioral Disorders, Learning Disabilities, and Sensory/Developmental Disabilities. You may also specialize in specific therapies like Art, Music, or Audiology. In order to specialize in any Early Intervention area, you must complete your degree, complete a post-graduate degree, and become licensed.

The Division of Early Childhood (DEC) has developed a public awareness campaign entitled, “Be Part of Early Intervention,” featuring high quality videos and information on what it means to be an early intervention practitioner and service coordinator.
