At Ervin Cable Construction, LLC, as a Copper Splicer II, you'll connect and maintain copper wire networks for telecommunications, ensuring reliable phone and internet services by skillfully splicing and repairing connections.

• Perform cable upgrades and splicing tasks, both aerial and underground

Test, activate, and troubleshoot the network's circuit post-installation

Ensure all splicing operations meet strict customer and industry standards

Repair out-of-service drops or cable cuts as necessary

Complete basic daily maintenance of vehicles, including fluid checks

Document work performed through daily production reports, including marking up maps and keeping correct material usage records

To be 18 years of age or older

High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience

Must be able to pass a DOT physical exam, resulting in a valid medical card

Knowledge of telecommunications network structure

Routinely : operate vehicle and heavy machinery, squeeze, repetitive hand motion, work alone in remote locations with arms above shoulder level, bend, stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs and lift greater than 55 pounds
