Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN/LPN) - Shift Care

Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) - Float PoolReporting to the Float Pool Director; the Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVN's) provide basic, bedside nursing care for sick, injured, convalescing, elderly, and physically or mentally disabled persons. The Float Pool LVN confirms with the staffing office each shift what department they will report to for their shift. The Float Pool LVN is an integral part of the PRMC team as they always support the needs of the organization on all units. They typically work in a health care team under the direction and supervision of a Physician and or Registered Nurse (RN) and develop their skills in Emergency, Critical Care, Medical-surgical, Maternity, and Pediatric nursing. LVNs observe patients, perform basic assessments, and report/document changes in a patient's condition. They also perform routine laboratory tests, feed patients, and record food and fluid intake and output. Some LVNs perform intravenous therapy or blood withdrawal after completion of the IV Training Course.
