We are looking for a talented and experienced OperationsManagerleader to manage low volume, high, mix-manufacturing operations in our Newark,CAlocation reporting directly to the CEO and General Manager. The Operations Manager will be critical in providing the daily leadership of all manufacturing operations, including brazing, heat treat, CNC machining, assembly, testing, maintenance and process engineering across the entire plant location. FunctionalLeadership:The incumbent is responsible for leading a team of first-line supervisors in managing the production schedule and the engineering staff supporting the process area.Leading the reporting of Variable Manufacturing Costs for the plant, along with associated analysis and commentary monthlyPartnering with all support functions in the execution of meeting the production schedule, identification, and delivery of Operations projects/initiativesBeing accountable for achieving production targets while maintaining cost controls and compliance.Directly contributing to the development of business and/or functional strategies and typically responsible for managing multiple team disciplines.Identifying opportunities to improve manufacturing and quality system processes and practices and proactively driving continuous improvement projects to completionManaging development and execution of program manufacturing plans, including prototype and production configuration build schedules, material requirements, plant schedulesEstablishing production priorities and sequence of manufacturing projects to deliver on KPIs relative to cost, quality, schedule attainment, and on-time shipmentsEstablishing department policy, standard operations procedures and working practicesMaintaining programs to ensure the plant compliant with all voluntary, regulatory, and statutory standards and establishing compliance and training requirements for all employees.Establishing organization talent strategy to include goals and objectives, performance and development, and career and succession planning. Coaching, developing, and mentoring employeesInterviewing, and training employeesPlanning, assigning, and directing workAppraising performanceRewarding and disciplining employeesAddressing complaints and resolving problemsQualifications Include:7-10 years of people management experience andatleast 2 years in a manufacturing setting.Bachelor's degree in Engineering strongly preferredFive years of experience in a leadership/managerial role in an Operations environment5+ years of demonstrated success in managing a AS/ISO regulated manufacturing environment5+ years of experience in CNC Machining processExtensive experience in Lean or Continuous Improvement methodologiesExcellent attention to detail and strong communication skills, both written and spokenMust be adaptable to a changing work environment and competing demandsAbility to communicate effectively at all levels, through a variety of mediaAdvanced computer skills (MS office, ERP, data analysis) requiredExcellent team facilitation skills and the ability to influence othersExcellent problem-solving skills#LI-PE1 About Nelson Connects:If you're looking for a new opportunity, the recruiting and staffing experts at Nelson Connects can help.
