Registered Nurse (RN) - Hospital - ICU

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse (ICU) provides specialized nursing care in an acute care hospital setting, focusing on critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit. This role involves performing clinical assessments, administering medications, developing treatment plans, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient care. The nurse must demonstrate strong communication and teamwork skills and have at least two years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities:

Perform comprehensive patient assessments and monitor critical health indicators.
Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and protocols.
Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
Provide skilled nursing care to patients with complex medical conditions in the ICU.
Document patient care activities accurately using electronic medical records (Epic).
Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and intervene as necessary.
Assist with patient admissions, discharges, and transfers within the ICU and related units.
Maintain a safe and clean environment, adhering to infection control standards.
Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain clinical competencies.
Required Skills & Certifications:

Active Registered Nurse license in the state of practice.
Minimum of 2 years ICU or critical care nursing experience.
Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.
Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
Experience with trauma level II patients preferred.
Strong clinical assessment, medication administration, and treatment planning skills.
Proficiency with electronic health records, specifically Epic.
Valid driver's license, car insurance, and access to an automobile for work-related travel if required.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:

Experience in floating between ICU and similar critical care units.
Familiarity with hospital policies and procedures in acute care settings.
Additional certifications related to critical care nursing.
Special Considerations:

Weekend work required every other weekend.
No on-call responsibilities.
Ability to float between ICU and related units.
RTO (Return to Office) restrictions must be included at time of submission.
Facility provides free parking.
Scrub color for RNs is royal blue or navy blue.
Scheduling:

• 26-week assignment duration.
• Block scheduling accommodations are available.
• Guaranteed hours with allowance for one call-off per two-week pay period.
