Hospital ICU RN - Travel Nursing

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN with a CA license for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring critical care and ventilator management skills.
Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS, and NIHSS
• MAB Training required
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Experience with IV therapy, central/PICC/arterial line management, and blood product administration required
• Ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and suctioning skills required
• Experience with titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips required
• Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure required
• Experience with dysrhythmia interpretation and management required
• Experience with CVA/acute stroke management required
• 2 supervisor references obtained within the past year required

Responsibilities

ICU setting within a hospital environment
Patient ratio of 1:2
Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
Epic charting system required
Provide comprehensive nursing care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation based on patient age, condition, and culture
Demonstrate leadership on the unit and participate in multidisciplinary care conferences
Act as patient and family advocate throughout care process
Preferred experience includes charge nurse background, teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I/II settings
Preferred skills include cardiac surgery care (CABG, ECMO, Impella, IABP, TAVR, VAD), CRRT/CVVHD, chemotherapy administration, and neuro critical care (EVD, ICP monitoring, TBI, spinal cord injury)
Experience in Neuro ICU and Surgical ICU settings preferred
Candidates must live within a 50-mile radius to qualify for local rate
Local candidates accepted at local rate
Returning employees must have a 1-year separation before returning as a traveler
Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request permitted per contract
Holiday coverage includes New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas
Must complete lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing
First-time travelers not considered for this role
