Unit
The Respiratory Therapist program supports both new graduates and experienced professionals through a structured 12-month RT Residency Program, a defined Clinical Career Ladder, and flexible self-scheduling. The residency helps new therapists transition into professional practice through hands-on clinical experience, mentorship, ongoing education, critical care training, and advanced procedures. Respiratory therapists can progress from RCP I through RCP IV, with opportunities for increased responsibilities, recognition, and compensation as they gain experience, earn advanced credentials, or pursue higher education. 3 x 12 hour shifts per week. Shift: Day (06:00-18:30) or Night (18:00-06:30) available.

RC Graduate: Students anticipating graduation from an RT program between May and August 2026 are encouraged to apply now for positions that begin in Summer 2026.

The Respiratory Care Graduate position transitions the new graduate into a Respiratory Care Practitioner role post-graduation. The individual will take the skills and knowledge gained in school and clinical experience to work directly with a preceptor to become competent with all equipment, modalities and clinical patient assessments needed to care for patients in the hospital setting. The Respiratory Care Graduate position will provide direct patient care in accordance with the hospital's objectives, policies and procedures and display the core values of Froedtert under supervision of a licensed RCP.

Successful completion of a course of study in Respiratory Care is required. Clinical experience in hospital, home care or skilled nursing facility is preferred.

Graduate from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program with an Associates Degree is required. Graduate from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program with Bachelors Degree is preferred.

TRAINING DESCRIPTION

Staff must produce a valid Respiratory Care Practitioner license issued by the State of Wisconsin within 120 days from date of graduation. Staff who fail to meet the requirements will be placed into progressive corrective per policy FH-HR.If full application is in review by the State of Wisconsin Licensing board the individual will not progress into the corrective action per policy FH-HR.Perks & Benefits At Froedtert Health
