Head of Operations Management (m/w/d)

Overview Drive production excellence, ensuring quality and safety standards while managing budgets, resources, and costs. Lead a plant or assigned area, foster collaboration, and inspire the team.
Responsibilities Oversee all shift production operations, directing salaried and hourly production group leaders.
Ensure teams stay motivated, aligned, and focused on operational goals.
Foster strong employee relations, providing training, counseling, and recognition programs.
Guide team leaders in best practices for safety, food safety, quality, process control, and personnel management.
Partner internally for layout design improvements, oversee automation improvement projects, and implement cost‑saving initiatives.
Track labor, material, and indirect costs to stay within budget and meet yield and efficiency goals.
Continuously look for process improvements to maintain competitive edge.
Lead safety and ergonomic programs, ensuring training, compliance, and hazard mitigation.
Maintain high product quality, addressing failures and ensuring compliance with HACCP and SSOP protocols.
Ensure operating procedures are followed and updated, stepping in or delegating in the absence of key personnel.
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four‑year college or university and at least 5 years of relevant experience; or equivalent combination.
Minimum of 2 years of demonstrated team management or project leadership.
Experience using time‑keeping systems, SAP, and Microsoft Office programs.
Ability to work nights, weekends, and flexible hours as needed, and to travel up to 10% of the time.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing, OSHA, USDA guidelines, and HACCP regulations.
Strong communication skills; bilingual an advantage.
Physical Demands & Work Environment Occasional lifting or moving up to 50 lbs, standing, walking, and reaching.
Plant environment includes wet or humid conditions, extreme cold and heat, exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and chemicals.
Moderate to loud noise in production area.
Compensation & Benefits Pay range: $115,000 - $150,000 annually. Base pay only one aspect of total rewards package. Additional benefits include comprehensive medical plans, wellness programs, training and development, tuition assistance, and scholarship program.
