Assistant Insurance Underwriter

We specialize in liability, physical damage, cargo and other insurance solutions for the commercial auto markets including trucking, public transportation and others.

Carolina Casualty is seeking a detail-oriented, quick-learner with an interest in pursuing a long‑term career with a constantly-evolving top competitor in the Commercial Transportation Insurance industry.

Collect and analyze data to rate new and renewal business

Efficiently navigate in rating and issuance systems, including timely and accurate issuance of policies and policy amendments

Examine documents including declarations, applications, signed forms, Motor Vehicle Reports, and other policy documents for accuracy and completeness

participate in ongoing training as appropriate

Collaborate with peers, Underwriters, and other departments to promptly and proactively address business challenges and/or opportunities

Perform other duties and/or projects as assigned

Provide first level contact for external customer service inquiries

Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Risk Management preferred

Insurance Designation (AINS, AU, etc…) 1‑3 years of Insurance and/or Commercial Auto (Trucking and Public Transportation) Insurance Underwriting experience preferred

2+ years of Data Entry/Data Processing

Superior customer experience skills

Strong computer skills, including Excel and Outlook
