Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Care Services Nurse | Full-Time

The core service of Allegiance Home Care Services, Inc. (AHCS) is to provide home care to seniors and people with disabilities to live independently in their homes as long as they are safely able to do so. Actual services performed to the elderly and disabled include but are not limited to the "Activities of Daily Living" such as assisting with ambulation, bathing, transferring, toileting and grooming, just to name a few. Other types of activities are light house cleaning, errands, medication reminders, etc. The agency provides continuous care 24/7, 365 days a year.

Job Description
Allegiance Home Care Services is seeking a knowledgeable and skilled full-time Home Care Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN).

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides quality care for clients receiving Home Care services, adheres to professional nursing standard and practices set forth by the Nurse Practice Act, and ensures compliance with state and federal regulations including policies and practices set forth by Allegiance Home Care Services.

Responsibilities Include:

Coordinate overall quality care for the clients by observing clients and to report any changes in physical, social or emotional condition, such as level of function, change in attitude/behavior, loss of appetite, weight change or complaints of pain. Report changes to RN Supervisor.

Ensure that unlicensed staff duties and responsibilities are accomplished for clients in a timely, professional, respectful and dignified manner.

Participate in the completion and review of client care plans.

Identify and respond appropriately to emergency situations. Initiate emergency treatment and report to the RN Supervisor.

Perform supervisory visits as directed by RN Supervisor under Virginia Home Care rule guidelines.

Teach classes, both day and evening.

Qualifications
Must be licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Virginia and must maintain licensure.

Two or more years of experience working with the geriatric population or in a similar care environment preferred.

Current certification in CPR preferred.
