The successful candidate will work closely with the dental team to ensure a positive patient experience and contribute to Vivent Health's overall mission of delivering comprehensive healthcare services.Winning skills and behaviors for successEssential Job DutiesProvide chairside assistance to dentists during dental procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort and efficient workflow.Assist delivering patient care by taking and recording vital signs, updating medical histories, taking traditional and digital impressions, and addressing patient concerns.Maintain strict infection control protocols by sterilizing and organizing dental instruments and equipment.Take and develop dental radiographs as directed by the dentist, ensuring high-quality diagnostic images.Coordinate and schedule dental appointments, follow-ups, and treatments, optimizing the dental clinic's workflow.Accurately record patient information, treatment plans, and procedure codes in an electronic health records (EHR) system.Manage dental supplies inventory ensuring adequate stock levels and timely ordering.Maintain dental equipment per manufacturer guidelines and keep log of all maintenance schedules.Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, post-treatment care, and preventive measures to promote overall dental health.Adhere to infection control guidelines, OSHA regulations, and clinic policies to maintain a safe and sterile environment.Collaborate with other healthcare professionals within Vivent Health to ensure comprehensive and integrated patient care.Maintain licensure according to state regulations, including appropriate CE geared toward the Vivent Health Patient population.Adhere to all agency policies, including but not limited to Confidentiality, Employee Handbook, Health Care Corporate Compliance Plan, Standards of Conduct, training, and other relevant policies.NOTE: Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functionsRequired and preferred knowledge and experiences to succeedEducation: High School Diploma or GED requiredColorado-approved dental radiology/x-ray certification that complies with Rule X of the Colorado Dental Practice Act requiredWork Experience: 1+ years of experience as a dental assistant requiredCurrent, active state license (if needed) within state health center is locatedProficient in dental terminology, procedures, and use of dental equipmentFamiliarity with electronic health records (EHR) systemsSoft Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with patients and the dental teamCompassion and empathy towards patients, understanding their needs, and providing a supportive environmentAbility to collaborate with dentists, hygienists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver coordinated careFlexibility to adapt to changing priorities, procedures, and dental technologies in a fast-paced healthcare environmentPrecision and accuracy in performing dental procedures, recordkeeping, and following infection control protocolsAdditional Preferred Qualifications: Spanish-speakingCompletion of an accredited dental assistant programHIV experience in a not-for-profit environmentStatement of InclusionVivent Health is an equal opportunity employer and will recruit, hire, promote, and transfer qualified persons into all job classifications regardless of race, gender, religion, skin color, national origin or ancestry, physical disability (including pregnancy), mental disability, age, gender identity, sexual orientation, legally protected medical condition, family care status, marital status, veteran status, genetic characteristics, or any other characteristic protected by federal or state law.
