Temporary Tax Preparer

As a Tax Associate at H&R Block, you'll begin a career in tax and client service through a hands‑on, apprenticeship‑style experience. You'll build your skills with training, guidance, and coaching as you grow. With support from advanced technology and a Client Care Specialist, you'll focus on reviewing each client's tax situation, offering clear advice, and building trust. Partner with a dedicated Client Care Specialist who gathers client information, allowing you to focus on reviewing each client's tax situation and delivering a great experience

Use open-ended questions and active listening to understand client needs and identify tax savings opportunities

Continue building tax knowledge through ongoing training to grow your confidence and ability to serve clients effectively

Build strong client relationships and support office goals through teamwork, collaboration, and a client‑first approach

Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course1

Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service‑oriented environment

Comfort using digital tools and systems as well as AI‑based tools such as Copilot and ChatGPT

High school diploma / GED / equivalent

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field

Experience in a client‑facing or consultative role, such as financial advising, insurance, retail sales, or professional services

Availability to work evenings and weekends during tax season
