Mechanical EngineerAtlanta, GA; US (Remote)We seek a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in mechanical engineering. The successful candidate will lead the design and implementation of data center projects from inception to completion, ensuring they meet the highest standards of efficiency, reliability, and sustainability.Key Responsibilities and Essential Job FunctionsProject ManagementLead and manage data center design projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and budgets.Coordinate and communicate with stakeholders, including clients, architects, contractors, and internal teams.Design and EngineeringOversee the mechanical engineering aspects of data center design, including HVAC, cooling systems, and energy efficiency measures.Work closely with electrical and structural engineers to ensure integrated and cohesive design solutions.Technical ExpertiseProvide technical guidance and support throughout the project lifecycle.Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and technical evaluations.Review and approve design documents, specifications, and drawings.Vendor ManagementManage relationships with external vendors and contractors.Evaluate and select suppliers for mechanical systems and components.Monitor and ensure quality control of materials and workmanship.Sustainability and InnovationPromote sustainable design practices and innovative technologies to enhance data center performance.Quality AssuranceEnsure rigorous quality assurance processes are followed throughout the project.Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with design specifications and standards.Documentation and ReportingMaintain accurate and detailed project documentation.Ensure proper handover of completed projects to operations teams.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.Minimum of 5 years of experience in data center design and project management.Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC, cooling, and energy management.Proven track record of successfully managing complex engineering projects.Excellent project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.Proficient in project management software and tools (e.g., MS Project, AutoCAD, Revit, Procore).Preferred QualificationsMaster's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.6+ years of experience in data center design and project management.Travel 10% of the time.Variable Pay: Discretionary annual bonus, based on personal and company performance.Chemical Electrical Ergonomics Climb ladders Mechanical lift Noise Temperature Extremes Trip/Fall Driving (must possess valid driver's license and insurance)At Flexential, we value diversity and believe that different perspectives and unique skills make us stronger as a team.
