Shop Welder (1st/3rd Shift)

The Aluminum Welder is responsible for performing weld preparation, welding, and finishing operations to manufacture high-quality products based on customer drawings and specifications. This role requires precision, strong technical skills, and adherence to safety and quality standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

What You’ll Do

Perform aluminum welding using TIG (GTAW) and MIG (GMAW) processes

Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols

Prepare materials by cleaning, cutting, and fitting components prior to welding

Inspect welds to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications

Operate and maintain welding equipment and tools safely

Repair damaged aluminum parts and structures

Follow OSHA safety standards and company safety protocols

Collaborate with team members, fabricators, and supervisors to complete projects efficiently

Maintain a clean and organized work area

Participate in safety training and report any safety concerns

Perform other duties as assigned

What You’ll Need

High school diploma or GED

5+ years of experience with aluminum welding and related processes

Proficiency in TIG (GTAW) and MIG (GMAW) welding

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

Experience completing inspections and maintaining accurate records

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines

Strong understanding of welding safety practices and procedures

Good communication and teamwork skills

What It’s Like
As an Aluminum Welder, you’ll work in a hands‑on shop environment focused on quality, safety, and precision while contributing to high‑impact manufacturing projects.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

Lift and move materials up to 50 lbs regularly

Work performed in a non‑climate‑controlled shop environment

Stand and/or walk up to 10 hours per day, up to 6 days per week

Frequent bending, twisting, reaching (including overhead), and maintaining balance

Occasional kneeling, crouching, crawling, and climbing ladders

Use hands frequently for handling, grasping, and coordination tasks

Ability to push, pull, or carry materials up to 50 lbs over short distances

Requires normal vision, hand‑eye coordination, and no color blindness

Hearing ability required (ear protection recommended)

PPE required: steel‑toe boots, safety glasses, and hard hat
