Registered Nurse - Med/Surg Neuro
Assignment Duration
This is a 13-week contract position.
Schedule
Day shift: 3x12-hour (06:45 - 19:15). Must work every other weekend.
Job Description
Join our team as a Registered Nurse in our Med/Surg Neuro unit. Our focus is primarily on stroke patients as well as a variety of neuro diagnoses including epilepsy and traumatic brain injuries. The role requires strong clinical skills in Med/Surg nursing along with a commitment to patient care.
Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients diagnosed with neurological conditions.
Administer medications and monitor patient response to treatment.
Effectively perform IV starts and telemetry monitoring.
Interpret and manage dysrhythmias, including initiation of appropriate interventions.
Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and communicate patient status changes effectively.
Ensure adherence to safety and quality standards within the nursing practice.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
A minimum of 2 years experience, including at least 1 year in Med/Surg nursing.
Must have experience specifically in Med/Surg; telemetry experience is a plus.
Current licenses and certifications: BCLS, NIH, NIHSS. ACLS preferred but not required.
EKG testing must be passed prior to the start of the assignment.
Travelers must have completed at least 2 successful contracts.
