Counselor, Outpatient Clinic

A Prerequisite of a 9-hour orientation course must be submitted with the application. The course can be found online from one of the following CADTP-approved online education providers: Performs person-centered treatment planning for persons with substance use disorders and co-occurring disorders, including initial, on-going, continuity of care, discharge, and planning for relapse prevention.

Provides client, family and community education on substance use and co-occurring disorders.

Assists or refers clients for assistance in applying for programs.

Documents and maintains sufficient records of client activity to ensure consistency with existing policies and procedures and to inform staff of client's progress.

Participates in case conferencing by providing pertinent information to a multidisciplinary team, including mental health staff and case managers.

Works on a multicultural team sensitive to the cultural and linguistic needs of the clients and families served.

Completes billing expectations per Agency requirements and provides services consistent with program needs.

Attends and participates in staff meetings to provide input towards program development and staff training.

Interacts with other internal programs, clinical/support staff and external sources such as school or community personnel as applicable.

Models Pacific Clinics' approach, mission and core values in all communication and correspondence.

Knowledge of ethical and legal standards in addiction counseling.

High School Diploma or GED required
