CVICU Registered Nurse (RN) - 3x12-Hour Shifts
Assignment Duration
This is a 13-week contract position.
Schedule
3x12-Hour Day Shifts from 07:30 to 20:00.
Job Description
The CVICU Registered Nurse will provide care for adult and geriatric patients immediately post-operative from cardiac surgery, including but not limited to CABG and valve procedures. The position involves intensive monitoring and management of patients on ventilators and other advanced interventions.
Responsibilities
Delivering immediate post-op care for cardiac surgery patients.
Managing ventilation and respiratory therapy.
Utilizing advanced monitoring techniques (Flo Trac, CRRT, IABP, Impella).
Performing artery management (fem stop, TR bands).
Maintaining a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:2 in CVICU and 1:3 if floated to IMC.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
Minimum 1 year of experience in CVICU, with 2+ years preferred for first-time travelers.
Current RN license from Maryland or Compact State.
BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIH certification preferred.
Previous charge nurse experience is preferred.
