Physical Therapist Assistant

For the 2026-2027 School Year | $25-$35/hour | Full-Time | Indianapolis, IN | School-Based | State PTA License required

Support the delivery of physical therapy services to students in K-12 school settings under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. Assist with implementing individualized therapy plans, provide direct interventions to improve mobility, motor skills, functional independence, and safe access to the school environment, and document student progress.

Collaborate with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams to help students participate more fully in educational activities and achieve their school-based goals.

Physical Therapy Assistant Responsibilities:

Treatment Planning : Plan and deliver specialized therapy techniques through individual or group sessions to meet the goals outlined in the Individual Education Plans (IEP). Provide therapy to children aged preK-12 with various medical diagnoses, including orthopedic impairments and developmental disorders.

Consultation & Instruction : Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate therapy into classroom-based activities. Engage with parents to incorporate their child’s therapy program into daily routines.

Data Collection & Documentation : Complete and maintain accurate documentation for all student therapy sessions and progress.

Time Off Management for Full-Time School Employees : Time off requests will be reviewed and approved by the supervisor to ensure minimal disruption to normal operations.

Physical Therapy Assistant Qualifications:

Current Physical Therapy Assistant License in the state where services are delivered.
