A client of ours is currently seeking a Senior Engineer within their MEP team to assist on the technical development and management of projects. They operate in several sectors including healthcare, higher education, data centers, and high-end commercial projects.
Responsibilities -
Design and develop mechanical (HVAC) systems for a variety of building types including commercial, healthcare, and mission-critical facilities
Coordinate mechanical systems with electrical, plumbing, and fire protection disciplines to ensure fully integrated MEP designs
Perform load calculations, energy modeling, equipment selection, and ductwork/piping layouts using tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, and HVAC software
Prepare construction documents including plans, specifications, and technical reports in compliance with local codes and company standards
Participate in design review meetings, collaborating closely with architects, structural engineers, and other consultants
Conduct site surveys, inspections, and field reports to support construction administration and verify installation conforms to design intent
Interface with clients and project stakeholders to gather requirements, present design solutions, and provide engineering support
Qualifications -
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (B.S.M.E.) or related field; EIT preferred, PE a plus
Minimum 3 years of experience in mechanical (HVAC) design within an MEP consulting or engineering firm
Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and HVAC design software (e.g., Trace 700, HAP)
Solid understanding of NYC and international mechanical codes, ASHRAE standards, and green building practices
Experience producing construction documents and performing load calculations and equipment sizing
Strong coordination skills with multidisciplinary teams including electrical, plumbing, and architectural trades
Effective communication skills for client interaction, team collaboration, and technical documentation
Demonstrated ability to manage time across multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
