Responsibilities

The registered nurse (RN) in the Internal Travel Team at Mayo Clinic will rotate across Mayo Clinic sites in Arizona, Florida, Minnesota, and Wisconsin as determined by patient care needs. The RN supports Emergency Department settings across our MCHS hospitals, assessing, triaging, and treating patients of all ages. The role requires a commitment to patient safety and collaborative teamwork. Responsibilities include coordination of nursing care, direct patient care, patient/family education, transitions of care, and working within the Mayo Clinic Nursing Professional Practice Model. The RN also serves in a leadership role, mentoring, participating in quality improvement, and delegating patient care based on acuity and resources. The RN travels routinely to multiple locations, requiring flexibility and adaptability.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ACEN, CCNE, or NLN CNEA).

One year of RN experience required.

Associate degree RN with start date April1,2020 must provide documented evidence of baccalaureate completion within five years of the start date.

Associate degree RN with start date prior to April1,2020 must provide documented evidence of baccalaureate completion as required by the degree program at the time of hire.

One year of inpatient RN experience required. RN travel experience strongly preferred; external traveler or float pool experience preferred; Mayo Clinic cross‑site experience preferred.

Excellent communication skills, teamwork, computer and electronic medical record experience, flexible hours (days, evenings, nights, holidays, weekends, on‑call), adaptability, leadership, critical thinking.

Visa/Sponsorship

This role is eligible for TN sponsorship. Successful sponsorship will require state licensure and completion of the VisaScreen or equivalent certification.

License and Certification

Current multi‑state RN licenses: Minnesota, Wisconsin, Arizona, and Florida.

BLS (Basic Life Support) valid for 90 days post‑start date (AHA/Heartcode® BLS, Military Training Network, RedCross CPR/AED).

Additional state licensure or specialty certification/training as required by the work area.

Compensation Detail

This position offers a fixed hourly rate of $60.40. A travel stipend may be provided, amounts reviewed and adjusted quarterly. A comprehensive benefits package is also included.
