Evening & Weekend Cashier

Cashier
Responsible for collecting of admission fees, donations, distribution of maps, and other promotional materials to our guests. Achieves maximum sales profitability by effectively selling tickets, memberships, rides wristbands, and/or related services. Offer outstanding guest service skills.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Sell tickets and other promotional items to guests
Identifies advantages and compares organization's products/services and assists guest in selecting those best suited to their needs
Ability to handle cash, credit cards and checks accurately
Operates a computer terminal and record discount information, separately tracking each coupon and promotion. Ability to make change and to perform simple arithmetic calculations with accuracy and with reasonable speed
Provide quality guest interaction and service
Issues receipts, tickets, and change with accuracy
Balances and clears terminal and counts all fees received for the day
Keeps workstation and surrounding area clean and organized. Restocking of supplies each day as needed
May be on occasions assigned to assist in other areas of the zoo with crowd control or assist with rides department
Ability to deal courteously with the public and zoo team members. Develop and maintain harmonious relationship with other employees
Performs other duties as assigned by department management team
Qualifications
Knowledge:

• Possess good writing and verbal skills
• Computer skills required
• Zoo, hospitality or entertainment industries a plus or related experience
• 2-3 years of sales experience preferred
• Experience dealing with the public and computers preferred

Physical Demands:
~ Must be able to lift 35+ lbs

Work Environment:
Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time.
Must be comfortable working in cold and hot weather conditions.
