Shift / Schedule: Night shift (312 Hours), 18:457:15; We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.
This is a Neuro Unit Medical Surgical nursing position at a healthcare facility in Wilmington, NC. The unit focuses on general medicine with an emphasis on neurological patient diagnoses. Contract staff will be assigned and expected to work a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team, and may be required to report to work during a catastrophic event, mass casualty, or disaster. Consolidation to the Centralized Office mid-contract may occur, and contract staff may be pre-assigned to units as needed.
Provide direct patient care on a Neuro Unit with a focus on general medicine and neurological diagnoses
Maintain a teamwork approach to patient care with a focus on patient safety
Work within a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6
Fulfill weekend shift requirements: 56 weekend shifts (equates to every other weekend)
Utilize unit systems including Pyxis (medication), EPIC (documentation), and SBAR (communication)
Complete 24-hour unit orientation upon start
Adapt to potential mid-contract consolidation and pre-assignment to units as needed
Teamwork approach to patient care
Ability to fulfill weekend shift requirement (56 weekend shifts per contract period)
Proficiency with or ability to learn Pyxis, EPIC, and SBAR systems
Neuro experience preferred
Experience in or willingness to learn the charge nurse role preferred
Must pass EKG Testing prior to start (required for this specialty)
Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
Local candidates accepted
Night shift (18:457:15), 312-hour shifts; Weekend requirement: 56 weekend shifts (equates to every other weekend)
Contract staff may be required to work Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team assignments during catastrophic events, mass casualty incidents, or disasters
Any call-offs or additional RTO on unit could possibly result in contract cancellation and DNR (Do Not Rehire).
