Head of Programme Management

The Pediatric Trauma Program Manager helps to develop, implement, and provide continuous evaluation of the Pediatric Trauma Program. This person works with the Pediatric Trauma Program Medical Director and other team members to develop and support the Pediatric Trauma designation based upon standards set forth by the American College of Surgeons (ACS) and/or the Virginia Department of Health. This person manages pediatric trauma registry responsibilities, day to day performance improvement strategies, and other services that support and maintain the Pediatric Trauma designation status.
This role reports to the Manager, Surgical Trauma with a dotted line to the Childrens Quality Director.

Develops and establishes operational and strategic goals and objectives consistent with the ACS and VDH Pediatric Trauma designation standards and UVA Health to include oversight of quality and performance improvement.
Serves as a technical expert of the Pediatric Trauma Program - keeping abreast of current standard, requirements, and best practice for pediatric trauma.
Maintains Pediatric Trauma Registries to include collecting, analyzing and trending data.
Coordinates with the Pediatric Trauma Medical Director, leadership of the adult Trauma Program and UVA Health Childrens, UVA Health administration, and clinicians to develop and maintain policies, procedures, and protocols related to the care of pediatric trauma patients
Coordinates with Pediatric inpatient and ambulatory teams to ensure all designation requirements are met.
Ensures all relevant providers are complaint with Pediatric Trauma guidelines
Monitors the Pediatric and Adult Trauma Teams availability and their compliance with relevant policies and standards
Ensures all requirements for Pediatric Trauma designation are supported and implemented in the Emergency Department
Organizes and supports a performance improve program for pediatric trauma in collaboration with the Pediatric Trauma Medical Director and Childrens Quality Director
supporting their need for education, performance improvement, and communicating any needs
Maintains a close connection with the UVA Health Childrens administration and Childrens Quality teams to align effort between the Pediatric Trauma program and the broader care for pediatric populations
Bachelor of Science in Nursing from accredited nursing program, Master's degree in related field within 5 years of hire.
Valid Virginia Drivers license required for managers with responsibility operations in multiple locations. This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
