Position: FT Inventory Specialist
INVENTORY SPECIALIST
Classification: Non-Exempt/Hourly - FULL-TIME The Inventory Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory levels and overseeing all inventory movement within the location. This role analyzes shrink trends, identifies operational opportunities, and supports overall inventory integrity through cycle counts, reconciliations, receiving processes, and collaboration with store leadership and purchasing teams.The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and committed to improving inventory accuracy and operational efficiency.
Serve as the location’s primary inventory expert, monitoring and reviewing all inventory movement into and out of the facility.
Analyze shrink data to identify trends, problem areas, and opportunities to improve loss prevention awareness and operational performance.
Identify procedural deficiencies and communicate policy, compliance, and process improvement opportunities to Store Management.
Conduct regular physical inventory checks and cycle counts across all departments to ensure inventory accuracy.
Research, document, and report inventory variances and major discrepancies to management and Purchasing teams.
Review and reconcile negative inventory counts to ensure accurate product availability.
Monitor out-of-stock reports and partner with Store Management and Purchasing to improve in-stock conditions.
Receive and process all direct shipments, ensuring all receipts are accurately entered into inventory systems.
Process inventory adjustments including count corrections, expired product, buybacks, and other inventory transactions.
Participate as a key contributor in annual physical inventory activities.
Consistent attendance for regularly scheduled work shifts is required.

Advanced understanding of retail operations with 2+ years of retail experience preferred.
Knowledge of Farm & Home products and merchandise is preferred.
Knowledge of inventory management and point of sale (POS) systems preferred.
Knowledge of applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Ability to operate computers and other commonly used retail equipment.
