The Interpersonal Violence Advocate provides advocacy and resource coordination based on the empowerment approach. Under the supervision of an Associate Director, the Advocate is responsible for providing evidence-based, confidential advocacy and support services to primary and secondary student survivors of sexual assault, gender-based and intimate partner violence, stalking, and harassment to include sexual and street harassment.Serves a part of an on-call team that answers and responds to calls on the 24/7 hotline for a designated period during business hours and after hours through the on-call rotation.
- Provide confidential and comprehensive advocacy services that are empowerment-based and trauma-informed for primary and secondary survivors of interpersonal violence (sexual assault, relationship/intimate partner violence, stalking and harassment).
- Functions as liaison for survivors with campus and/or community partners. Coordinates campus and community resources to support survivors including emergency housing, food, clothing, transportation, and other appropriate assistance.
- Ensure data is up-to-date and in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- 13 paid holidays (including an extended December holiday)
- Bachelor's degree in health promotion/education, public health, social work, or related field.
- Pending graduates eligible if candidate receives their degree by date of employment.
Exercise sound judgment in structuring, organizing, and prioritizing work, balancing expectations while working independently and maintaining productivity under competing demands.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local policies, laws, and guidelines relevant to the work, including Title IX requirements and the judicial process on a college campus.
Bachelor's degree in health promotion/education, public health, social work, or related field.
• Pending graduates eligible if candidate receives their degree by date of employment.
