Job Description
Inova Alexandria Hospital is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN to join our team. Eligible Nurses will qualify for sign‑on & relocation bonuses.

Work Schedule
Full time, Night shift (40 hrs per week) with call.

Shift Options
Four 10‑hour shifts per week (9 pm - 7:30 am) OR Two 8‑hour shifts per week (11 pm - 7:30 am) and Two 12‑hour shifts per week (7 pm - 7:30 am).

Inova Alexandria Hospital is a 318‑bed community hospital located in Alexandria. Our OR has 11 suites and 4 endoscopy suites and offers comprehensive surgical specialties including orthopedics, sports medicine, spine, ENT, gynecology, urology, plastics, vascular, neurosurgery, robotics, podiatry, and maxillofacial. Endoscopy services include heartburn treatment.

Operating Room Registered Nurse Responsibilities

Performs comprehensive patient health assessments by interpreting multiple data sets and synthesizing their interrelationships.

Formulates individualized plans of care based upon assessment findings and interpreting trends in patient populations to achieve best practice.

Supports and empowers patients and families as they progress through the healthcare continuum from health promotion to end‑of‑life decisions.

Advocates for patients' rights from the patient/family perspective and provides counsel and acts as a resource to resolve issues.

Anticipates ethical, spiritual, and cultural needs of patients/families and assists staff in assessing patients' learning needs.

Requirements

Experience : Minimum of 1 year of direct Operating Room experience as a Registered Nurse.

Education : BSN or ADN from an accredited nursing school. If holding an ADN, must complete a BSN within 5 years of start date.

License : Must be licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse.

Certification : Basic Life Support with the American Heart Association.

Preferred Experience & Certification

Experience with orthopedics, neuro/spine, robotics, and trauma cases.

Circulating and scrubbing experience.

AORN's Periop 101 curriculum completion and/or CNOR.
